Fred - So pretty each of them! I like that last one with LVT as the pod parent. How tall is the scape?

Lyle - Very, very nice!!! For some reason, I really like the first seedling of THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS X CHAOTIC. Something very eye-pleasing about that one! I like all the others, too!

Jon - Pretty color! It will be interesting to see what the next blooms on that one will look like. Looks like a pattern might develop. Do you know the parentage?

I've grown and had blooms on about 300 seedlings in my garden. (Which by growers standards is a probably a small number.) This is the first time I've had this happen with one of my seedlings .... I have a daylily seedling that has produced 3 blooms so far. Each of those blooms is missing the stigma. Is this a common occurrence or is this a rarity?

Missing stigma on this unknown parentage seedling:

Roses in Snow x unknown seedling:

Lavender Baby Blue x unknown .... NO lavender in this bloom though:
Thumb of 2015-05-07/beckygardener/96113c

Oh! But wait ... without the flash ... it IS lavender!!!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

This is another unknown parentage seedling. Seems the little frog took a liking to it! This frog was seen in two different blooms on this seedling during 2 different days! Hilarious!

I am starting to see a bit of a pattern on this Heart Exibit x Judy Jungle Cat seedling:

No, those were Trish's seedlings that she bought from Tink, and they didn't come with parentage. It is probably 3 or 4 years old, do it will probably not change.

Becky, for the first week of bloom, Mapping Pennsylvania doesn't produce a stigma. It has done that since I have had it, so you may still get some blooms that will have a stigma.

Mamma is not stunning perhaps, but she has high rust resistance and she passes it on.

Jon - How many seedlings did your mom get from Trish? Would love to see more!

Cindy - I hadn't heard of any stigmas missing on blooms until I saw mine. So there are actually blooms that do that??!!! .... Mapping Pennsylvania is a lovely bloom! I wonder if it does eventually wind up producing pods after the subsequent blooms do show stigmas after the initial week of blooms. I found out today that I have TWO stigma-less type of daylilies. Another one bloomed with the same oddity today. I will be watching them to see if future blooms do produce some stigmas. So weird!

Pat - Do you know what the parentage is on Momma or the children?

This one gets better with each bloom. This is another child of Bird Talk x unknown. (It is a sibling to CCC13.) It looks like it was crossed with Stippled Statement to me. I have another Stippled Statement x unknown seedling from Sandi, so this new one appears to be yet another stippled bloom that I really like. I know some folks don't like the stippling, but I really like the look! The seed came from Sandi ( @Seedsower ). I know she does have Stippled Statement, so I am guessing she may have crossed Bird Talk x Stippled Statement and this is one of the children from such a cross.

This one is Betty Davis Eyes x Embrace the Moment. I was surprised that a dark halo around the eye was not present, but the form and color look about right to me. What do you think? This is a tiny bloom (3").

Thumb of 2015-05-08/beckygardener/cc128d

This one is El Desperado x unknown. This cross produce a lack of an eye zone color. It does happen depending on what the cross is. Unfortunately, Mike only knew the pod parent, so it's a mystery. It's quite a pretty bloom!

Did you mean how many did she get from Tink? I think she got around 10 - 12 from Tink. I will post pictures of every one of them.

Nice seedlings everyone.
Had some blooming in the hybridizing area yesterday, unlike the babies these older seedlings bloom closer the time they will always bloom.

Becky, Mapping Pennsylvania does eventually get stigmas and will set pods. It just takes that plant about a week before it produces any flowers that have stigmas. Sometimes even later in the bloom it will still produce a bloom or two with no stigmas.
