While waiting for a bus in Rio, I used my time to photograph this beautiful plant at a plant store on a square. I have no clue where to search, for a moment I thought maybe an agave, but probably not?

Those tiny flowers remind me of Cissus (?????surely not...) and the colorful bloom is surely Arundina.

Looks like a Beaucarnia species

Thank you all! Smiling So far Beaucarnia sp. looks the closest.
The flowers of this one look like a match; Beaucarnea recurvata, but the tree-like stem not, could the plant have been a young specimen...

I think it is Beaucarnea recurvata, do you agree?

I see we have a lot of entries in our database! The arrangement of the leaves along the stem look to match too!

Yes, classic Beaucarnea recurvata.

This plant is impressive to me, as though it is from the American desert, it thrives here in over 200 inches per year rain.
