Did a lot of repotting today, like 30-40 plants! Hilarious! Most were too large for old pots or needed new soil, now they look fresh and healthy!

Planted some bulbs, canna Lily, amaryllis, voodoo Lily. Also planted my hybrid Lily seeds, fingers crossed I'll have seedlings soon and the plants grow vigorously!

Made a pass through our side neighbor-barrier fir woodlot, picking up dropped branches to add to brush piles, noting new growth (some known, some unknown), and cleaning up debris. It's starting to thicken up on its own, which is nice - lots of sword ferns, vine maple, hollies, and laurel. The latter two are invasive non-natives but since they will live in deep shade and provide an evergreen understory, I'm letting them be.

Mowed the lawn and weedwacked.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Mowed the lawn, weed whacked, swept up lawn clippings, watered, cleaned the lawnmower after, watered the lawn and seeded everything. 5 hours well spent Thumbs up

Fed the birds, changed the water in the fountain and bird baths. Organized all the new plants and put them in trays so that they are easy to move under the deck at night , there is a risk of frost until the 24th. Put 2 bags of steer manure around my rhubarb, watered the flower beds, it was a good day. Green Grin!

Yesterday was nicely productive: Got the lawns mowed and weed whacked, a fresh coat of linseed oil on the gazebo (and on my chain-saw eagle sculpture, too!), a few more annuals planted out, and all just in time for a soaking rainstorm. Nice timing. Smiling

Nice timing is right!

I had some good timing this morning also. It's forecast to be a hot day, into the 90s, but starting early helped and there was a lovely wonderful cloud cover that didn't break until 10 am! so I got a *lot* of weeding done, planted two little nasturtiums in the ground, and took some pictures. Put water to the rose in the front, where I tend to neglect things.

No gardening for me either, we have had showers on and off all day, but I am not complaining, we really need the rain, the forests are very dry.

None for me either, unless you count grass mowing and shrub trimming.

I did find some nice growing supports and a gazing ball yesterday that I might be happy with, but I haven't put them up yet. Tomorrow!! Big plans for a big gardening day...tomorrow...! Rolling on the floor laughing

My grass is getting embarrassingly long! TOO much rain here when so many others need it.

The lawn here is mostly clover, which is nice! but it gets mowed by a crew my cousin has hired for years. So I don't worry about it.

This morning I planted out 8 chamomile plugs, a thyme and a sage plant -- my last herb seedlings. I do still have one winter sown (though not in winter!) jug of milkweed to plant out but not today, as it is a hot day already, and that project is a bit too extensive to start this late in the morning.

I also repotted a NOID sedum I got from a plant trade via my neighbor, into a larger pot to let it develop more before I site it in the ground. The note with it said it gets tall (I'm guessing maybe 24 inches) and has survived four winters here (good news!). I can probably ID it but haven't tried yet.

I *squeeed* out loud at my first cucumber flower! and we noticed honeybees flying in and out of a large-ish overturned clay pot; wonder if they're hiving in there!

And, this bloomed:

Grrrr, couldn't sleep so I was up at 5:30 this morning watering the plants still in the greenhouse, nabbed a trio of Lavatera to plant out in place of the dead rose bush (grrr again) and cleared a few more plants off the back porch to put out front. Took more time to untangle the vines there than anything else. They were wrapped around everything I wanted to move. Rolling my eyes. Heh, figured out where to plant some of those tomato plants I plant too many of every year. Hilarious! But that's for later on, when I'm actually conscious. Green Grin!

We're still see-sawing temperature-wise here; too hot (85 in the shade Blinking ) to plant anything more today, but by Wednesday morning we'll be back down in the 30's. Tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler at 60, and a better day for new plants. I did get my saved B&B Salvias planted though, and it was definitely time. They were growing quite well in their winter storage bucket filled with vermiculite...dry as dust vermiculite. Amazing! I'm so glad I attempted it! Hurray!

Woops! Having learned that the amaranth I sowed is not Love-lies-bleeding, but another variety, Amaranthus hypochondriacus 'Burgundy' I thought I'd look to see what the flowers look like.

Well, they're mighty pretty but the plant grows 6 to 8 feet tall! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

So I feel I need to alert the folks I gave my extras to, what to expect. I'm fine with it; the places I have it will be okay with tall plants in there... well, except the container I put it in, that one will have to move eventually.

*Blush* Green Grin!

But hey, grain/seeds for the birds and they will be up there where the cats are less likely to get 'em. So, that's a plus.

The day started of promising, sunny and warm, I put the new plants out on the patio early, and I was going to plant some of my pots as there is no frost showing for the next week. I was no sooner out there then huge dark clouds started moving in, then it started to sprinkle. Sighing!

After lunch I tried again as the sun was shining through holes in the clouds, I got the soil stirred up in a couple of planters and added fertilizer, soon the clouds got darker and there was thunder and lightning all around me, but no rain where I was, so strange. A short while later the wind really picked up, and I could see rain heading my way, so the plants went back under the deck and I quit for the day, maybe I will have better luck tomorrow. Shrug!

Whooo Hooooo! Hurray! The lawn was barely dry enough since we only got 1/2" of rain today but I got out at 6 pm and mowed and edged the lawn. Everything looks so much better when the lawn is pristine. I moved my variegated Angels Trumpet and Whilte Angel's Trumpet cuttings out of the greenhouse into the (hopefully) sunshine. With as many rainy and cloudy days as we'vve had lately, it felt good to be outside. Thumbs up

Repotted a Desert Rose; pruned 3/4 of a fairly long hedge of plumbago - and yes, all those little bits from that plant do stick to you. When I was finished I I hosed myself off; went in the pool for a little exercise and then used the outdoor shower to wash the pool water off. I did what I normally never, EVER do. I left the main faucet on. When I was going to bed, I thought I heard water. I was sure the pool pump was off so nothing was circulating in the pool. Went out with a flash light; and the hose had split and there was water gushing everywhere. Why couldn't the water have flowed towards the pool, which will probably need topping up tomorrow !! My fault entirely; I always turn faucets off. Lesson learned and it will probably be an expensive one. I have no idea when the hose split and how long the water was gushing; but the deck and all around the storage shed and other areas is flooded.
