Whoopee, I was just informed that I will have a guided tour of the Memphis Botanic Gardens in two weeks. I will be in Memphis for a wedding. The Gardens director said that I would even have complete access to their orchid house while on the tour and that much of it is off-limits to the public. Hurray! I don't know what to expect to see but I am excited to be offered this behind-the-scenes tour of the 96 acre complex.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Bert, Melissa, and Wayne (and anyone else in the Memphis area), do y'all know or know of Rick Pudwell?

Yes, my husband knows him very well. He is head of Horticulture at the MBG. Pretty much the glue that keeps the botanical side of the MBG in order. Very nice guy and very knowledgeable. He is one of the reasons that long-time volunteers stay.
