I noticed that a lot of my lilies are not up yet and today pulled back the mulch and nothing still coming through the ground.... there are some coming up but not near what you would normally see for this time of the year. Maybe a good thing since they actually calling for some snow flurries and for sure Frost tonight here but....

In the pots I noticed that Martagons are finally making a bit more of a push up....
the Regale Albums have all started to come up
the Edge is coming up..an oriental
A few Regale are coming up
but NOT a sign of the Gold Band and thought for sure that might starting to come up
just noticed today some trumpet mixes are showing up......

and in the big bed Noticed a lily that I have never seen before........came in an all season mix. I know my bulbs well but this one has a lot of hair leaves on it......a ton of leaves......and thin leaves and lots

so a few surprises and still waiting......
Talked to girl that is about an hour and half away from me and see is in Zone 6. she said that there is still ice on Lake Huron where she is and I am 20 minutes to the Lake too, so that might have something to do with things as well. she said only the marts outside are up a bit........and the ones in the greenhouse that she sells are all blooming..

and yours??

Nothing in the big beds is up yet either......

Mine are all up. My Anastasia are just about 4 Ft. tall already. My earliest Asiatic is developing buds.

if you're still getting frost and snow, then I wouldn't hold my breath about all your lilies not being up yet. especially any orientals you may have. im in seattle where we had record warm temps this past winter and this spring, and some of our orientals have just barely poked through the surface. they're tough as nails, give it time. look at it this way: that youll have plenty of blooms late into the summer!

I agree on that. this has been a hard winter here and late spring. I still have tulips in bloom here. We got a hard frost last night and everything was covered. Woke up at almost 8am and we are at 35F right now.
but the warmer temps are returning with some frost again next week.........
the surprising thing is that some of the oriental lilies are up out the ground.
You are right though it will be lots of blooming later in these gardens this year.........
last year everything opened around the same time............

Pat, would you put your local in your profile page. It is really helpful to us, especially those of us in the north, so see what is happening where. Obviously you are near Lake Huron but that leaves quite a spread - Canada for instance. Well, maybe not. My geography isn't too great. Thanks.

I am in Lucknow Ontario Canada but will change that for you..
Alaska is one place I would love to go someday
never realized it would be a zone 4b there.........wow that is neat..

things are coming up better here now and the killer frost the other night did major damage to tons of gardens around here but had all mine covered up thank goodness
I broke a top of an OT today so I guess no flower for that plant for this year and hopefully it recovers next year......
I think I finally have In all my lilies.....

more or orientals are up compared to the others, quite a few OT as well
none of the early lilies are even showing and the Gold Band is doing nothing as of yet
and still have a pouty martagon.......

I lost all mine (32 varieties) over winters of 12 & 13. Figured it was critters.
Replaced 8 varieties last fall (in bulb cages). I have not seen any trace, but it was back to 40 last night.
And I am at the edge of woods and slopes North, so sometimes I am a zone behind surrounding properties.

All my other plants are doing the best in years.

I think today, I'm going to dig one batch and see what's happening. Hopefully I won't chop anything off.
Just can't wait Grumbling

I would not like not dig into anything at the moment....
we had frost here last night and the next 3 nights as well in zone 5 here
and a lot of my lilies are not up yet............
some are just below the surface...........
I would not risk the chance of snapping off the heads of the bulbs.....and that is easy to do
