This is an unlabeled tree in the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro, it was on the side where the Atlantic forest surrounding the botanical garden starts, so could be native..

My first thought was maybe California Pepper Tree (Schinus molle)

http://www.bing.com/images/sea... but I'm not sure. It really looks familiar so I'll be curious to the name!

There are 30 species of Schinus in South America, so maybe one of the others, or something else in Anacardiaceae.

It is Schinus terebinthifolius, the Pink Pepper, the only Schinus sp. in that state.
Thanks for the assistance! Thumbs up

I knew it looked familiar! Brazilian Pepper Tree (Schinus terebinthifolia) is a Category I, non-native invasive here in Florida. Beautiful trees but a huge problem here.
