Interesting how you can get more of one part and fewer of another. I do like when I get double beards, though. Lol

I have never had double beards (unless you count the eyebrows with that feral goat )

I had a few with double beards this year. Never had that before. Lots of late blooms with only two standards and two falls too. Either some blooms hide it well, or I am getting way to used to it, but there was one I walked by, then looked at this morning, and it took me a minute to realize - hey this is missing the third!

I am afraid to even ask about the eyebrow/feral goat commment..........

One more point about herbicide damage... I've had it affect only a couple rhizomes of a clump, making some stalks color challenged and others normal. I'm thinking it has to do with how many rhizomes are attached to each other.
Last year I had a lot of Swan-necking and extra or missing petals.. extra beards.. We had a freeze in December, then 70's and 80's in January and February. This year, we had the same, except for no cold.. Everything is off schedule and confused, but I've had very little distortions this year.

So it sounds like the blast of cold really triggers the mutations. Makes sense for what happened here too, since I have a real increase this year after a late snow storm, and later ice storm.

Well, High Class deserves it's name. Even it's chimera goes classy, choosing the one fall/standard combo:
