This plant came from the North Charleston swap and is finally ready to make a bloom.
As I stare at this with eager anticipation, can anyone give me a hint what it might be?



Thanks to digital imaging I can see little spiky things on the leaves and the flower bud. Scary!

I'll add new photos once the blooms open.

You still have the suspense of seeing which color you have....pale creamy yellow, white, pink or purple!
That are all pretty!

This is what I love most about the unwanted, orphaned leftovers at local plant swaps. It may take a year or three to see a bloom, but the reward is fantastic.
Better go charge up the camera battery!

The flower bud started to show some color this morning.


Before I could edit and upload, the flower opened fully and it's a light purple color.


Is this a positive ID for the Stokes' Aster/Stokesia laevis?
