I'm wondering how to get all the information I need to add a peony to the database. All I have is the trade name. I don't know the cultivar or series name & I'm not sure where to find them. Is there a peony society website where I can look this information up? The peony in question is John Harvard. Thanks!

It looks like 'John Harvard' is the cultivar name for this Peony.

The American Peony Society is the ICRA for Paeonia and they maintain the Peony registry. Here's a link to their website and the printed registry.

I often use Carsten Burkhardt's Web Project Paeonia site to review names, history, etc. Here's a link to the page for 'John Harvard'.

Thank you so much! I know nothing about peonies. I'm more familiar with daylilies and there are lots of unregistered daylilies that can't be added to the database. I was worried the same might be true for peonies. Now I know where to check! Smiling
