Random question - as anyone ever had problems listening to the podcast? Here is why I ask...if I'm connected to wireless or even if I'm just streaming my cellular signal I can get approximately 3:40 into an episode before it starts over from the beginning. I've attempted a couple of things to narrow down the root cause and haven't made any progress. I've tried playing through multiple apps, I've attempted to increase the buffer on my phone, I even wrote some firewall rules to ensure that wasn't an issue. I listen to a lot of podcasts and this only happens with ATP.

has anyone else experienced something similar? I really enjoy listening and aside from downloading every episode to my phone I am at a loss.

You are the second person to report this issue to me. The other is a listener using an iPhone with iTunes. Now that I know It wasn't just her I will look much more closely into this.

Thanks Dave! This behavior actually followed me from my old iphone 4 to my new 5s. For a long time I thought it must be something to do with my firewall perhaps causing the iphone to timeout, but then I realized it also occurs when I'm just connected to the ATT network too. I wish I had something more descriptive to share.

I really love listening to ya'll talk about plants, and I always learn something. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

just to follow up, I have found that the Casts app is the best workaround for this issue because it allows you to quickly download individual episodes...it's easier to accomplish in Casts than Downcast, wunderradio, or the iOS podcasts app to name a few.

I have a question. I listen to the podcast thru I Tunes on my phone. I have every episode recorded since I just started listening. I notice sometimes Dave mentions show notes and I was curious as to what those were. I always try to take notes while I am listening to them, but was wondering exactly what the "show notes" were? Is there a place where there's articles about the particular podcast or am I on the wrong rack all together?

We don't always post show notes but when we do, they are attached to the podcast on the site. You can see all those by going and clicking on "Podcast" in the menubar on the left. The scroll down to the episode you're interested in and click on it. If there are any links, pictures or what have you, they'll be right there.

Thanks for the kind words, Chenoa! We do tend to skip weeks when we're busy or have stuff going on but we always enjoy sitting down and recording an episode.

I have the same problem. So I prefer to listen on the podcast app on my ipad because it shows the length of time on the podcasts and I can see if the complete episode is downloaded. Sometimes I come back later and the whole episode will then be available.
