Ashton - I expect your Not Guilty X Ripples and Reflections pattern to improve with age! And you will probably see changes in the Michaels Sword X Suer Fancy Face seedling, too! I have noticed that mine do improve with age.
That's pretty cool to have a patterned seedling. Hopefully it will be a good parent plant for future hybridizing, too!
Debra - Thank you!
Betty - Very, very nice how both of those seedlings' blooms have changed! I am always surprised with mine, too! I haven't too many yet that are blooming another year. Only a couple of them are blooming for the second season, but I have seen a change in the color deepening and more patterning, border, or ruffles showing up. The old saying that it takes 3 years for the blooms to stabilize must be true. I really like the current PRECIOUS CANDY x XYLOPHONE JAZZ bloom! Very fancy! It's so fascinating to see how different sibling seedlings can be!
Char - Thank you! I, too, like the no-eye look of CCC64. Different than most of my other seedling blooms.
No new blooms today. In fact, blooms have really tapered off today. I do have new scapes coming up on some that have yet to bloom for the first time, so there will be more to come, but certainly not the show that I've had the pleasure of seeing most recently. Last year at this time, mine were loaded with scapes yet to bloom. This year it warmed up earlier and my show was in the month of May instead of June. Climate change, I suppose?
