Nice Betty! Really like the very last image of the second sdlg. Both your patterns are super Ashton, love the lighter patterns on the darker base colors of red and purple. Have to pick your ccc64 tonight Becky. I'm in an edge no eye mood after seeing Crimson Edgings in the June Bloom thread Smiling

Ashton - I expect your Not Guilty X Ripples and Reflections pattern to improve with age! And you will probably see changes in the Michaels Sword X Suer Fancy Face seedling, too! I have noticed that mine do improve with age. Thumbs up That's pretty cool to have a patterned seedling. Hopefully it will be a good parent plant for future hybridizing, too! Big Grin

Debra - Thank you!

Betty - Very, very nice how both of those seedlings' blooms have changed! I am always surprised with mine, too! I haven't too many yet that are blooming another year. Only a couple of them are blooming for the second season, but I have seen a change in the color deepening and more patterning, border, or ruffles showing up. The old saying that it takes 3 years for the blooms to stabilize must be true. I really like the current PRECIOUS CANDY x XYLOPHONE JAZZ bloom! Very fancy! It's so fascinating to see how different sibling seedlings can be! Thumbs up

Char - Thank you! I, too, like the no-eye look of CCC64. Different than most of my other seedling blooms.

No new blooms today. In fact, blooms have really tapered off today. I do have new scapes coming up on some that have yet to bloom for the first time, so there will be more to come, but certainly not the show that I've had the pleasure of seeing most recently. Last year at this time, mine were loaded with scapes yet to bloom. This year it warmed up earlier and my show was in the month of May instead of June. Climate change, I suppose?

Will not try to comment on all the seedlings I have missed, got back Sunday and had no internet until yesterday afternoon.

@Char you probably know what this one is doing.
It's kind of pinched on each petal.

Wow! What a great bunch of seedlings today!

Betty - I love both of the babies from Precious Candy X Xylophone Jazz. The first one does have a wonderful edge, and I really like the colors on the second one. I've gotten nice round seedlings with good edges and plant habit from all my Precious Candy crosses.

Fred - All four of those are impressive. Nice pattern on the Wild Dreams kid, beautiful form on the Aldersgate baby, such a white looking seedling from Lillian's Vapor Trail, and great color and pattern on the last one!

Hurray! Ashton, I'd be applauding too if I saw a pattern as wonderful as that Aztec Headdress kid in my seedling bed. I think having that pattern on the sepals too makes it a very outstanding seedling. I hope that one does well for you.

You hit the jackpot with the Coffee to Go X Wildest Dreams cross, Fred. The colors and patterns on all the seedlings you've shown us have been so nice. Funny how some crosses just "click" and the seedlings go on to produce other great seedlings.

Ohhh, Love those patterns Ashton!!!! The AH X VB is awesome with the white on the sepals too. Fine edge and a lot of variation in the eye color Thumbs up Thumbs up
The NG X R&R kids are really good too. Absolutely love the second pattern, something mysterious... ghostly looking about it. Hard to describe. The last red has really nice color.

This one is really interesting. The petals are pleating making it a sculpted pleated form. This is exciting, there are not many known diploid pleated forms. Keep this one Smiling

Fred, thank you for labeling the seedlings. It's so good to know what's producing what. I especially like the first and last.

Ashton, thank you for showing the parents. What a treat that is. You're really getting some neat stuff from your crosses. I especially like the last.

Fred - Love all of those you posted photos of! That bloom is beautiful using Emerald Starburst! I love your ES x Aldersgate cross. I am very happy with my ES hybrid, too.

My Cradle of Bethlehem x Emerald Starburst hybrid. I have a hunch that the green throat will widen further next year when it blooms.
Thumb of 2015-06-03/beckygardener/70d91e

Ashton - Your Aztec Headdress X Vivid Butterfly patterned hybrid is really cool! I wonder if that pattern will change a little next year? I really like it!!!

Do not discount any of the currently unpatterned seedlings of Not Guilty x Ripples and Reflections. It's possible they may display a pattern next year. I really do think that it takes 3 years to show their true flowers. Is the last one in that thread a sibling, too?

Congrats on producing a Dip with pleated petals! You are on a roll ! Thumbs up

There was only a whimper of blooms today. Waiting to see if I am going to have another wave of first time blooming seedlings. I have several seedling scapes up that I've never had blooms on before. Until then, here are a couple of today's blooms:

Becky,
Yes all those are sibs.
I wonder if all these patterns are consistent too.
Only time will tell...

#037 is different!
CCC69 looks like it has some Indian Giver in its parentage.

Really nice patterns Ashton.

Emerald Starburst has been a good parent for green Becky
but I haven't got anything I would register because of
the poor scapes I have from it so far.

I have no idea what made me make that one cross, when I look at the two daylilies
there is nothing that says "make that cross".

Isn't that the way it seems to work..the well thought out crosses that should produce something nice are flops and the odd-ball, not sure why I did it ones produce awesome sdlgs. The third sdlg has a nice pink eye and edge.

Another one of those mysterious watermark patterns! Thumbs up

Fred - Lovely seedlings! Love that 3rd one!

Just curious .... what about the Emerald Starburst seedling scapes are you disappointed? Height? Number of buds?

Ashton - Looking good! Thumbs up

Char - I agree! I find myself looking at the less fancy blooms to see what I can cross them with to spice them up a bit. Seems to be the way to go in many cases.

Like the last one Ashton, toothy things are looking a lot better
than just a few years ago.

Nice red and FFO DG.

Most Emerald Starburst kids have skinny, little branching, and low bud count
scapes for me, yet I keep trying every year to pair it with something that will
shock me.
I will leave for Hattiesburg this afternoon to judge there show tomorrow, if
your in the area stop by the Convention Center.

This is what I would like to see from ESB
