I have these little mirrors way up in my oak trees. I've had them about three yrs. This past spring I added to them when the wind flipped some of them over the big branches and they no longer hung down in the breeze. They reflect balls of light around the garden, and also into the house, in early morning and the late afternoon. In the winter, when everything is pretty bland outside, those little balls of light look pretty jumping around the yard. I charged my Flip video so I could show you, but I'll have to wait till tomorrow. Too much going on here, and I missed the "window of opportunity."

They're just two little round mirrors glued together on each end of a long piece of monofilament (fishing line). Very simple.

I love the mirrors....what a cool idea!!! Hurray!

Okay, my nap never happened. Not my Nancy nap but my sleeping nap.
I walked by the table filled with paints from the turtle project and decided to finish my shoes for the Shoe Art contest and then I started a new project I've been day dreaming about for at least 3 years! So, now that nap time is past, I'm back here to visit with all of the gardenarters! Big Grin

I'm glad I can make you laugh! I love the microbadges. I think you're like the energizer bunny. I can go, go, go but I'll get grouchy after about 20 hours. You seem to be able to do it and remain sooo danged cheerful. Makes me grouchy just thinkin' about it!

nap, HB is closed on Sunday! Do you have a Michael's? I'll hold off filing my patent until Tuesday.
Chris and Vic, when do you sleep? Blinking

I attached the mirrors to one another and to the filament line with a glue gun. E6000 would probably work for the glue too. I used a really thin line the first time. In the wind, the mirrors twisted onto the line and while they still did the same thing, they weren't very attractive. I used a thicker line the last time and they didn't twist around. I would have preferred black line so it wouldn't be "visible." It was a lot more expensive for something I needed so little of. Any store that carries fishing tackle will have the line (or check the fishing tackle box in the garage).

Thanks, Sandi, for reminding me. I forgot about HB being closed on Sunday. I'm having a special day today, lunch and reminiscing at the best place around with my old friends from high school. That makes them "old friends" and "old" friends.
