I'm trying to keep my yard pollinator friendly. My new rose bush (we planted 12 "Drift" roses) has powdery mildew. I think it's just from the stress of living at in a big box store and then being planted and the damp cool weather we've been having. I've read about several controls for powdery mildew but want to be sure I use the right stuff. Neem oil is supposedly a good control though it is toxic bees while still wet. Amazon sells a potassium bicarbonate powder that can be mixed and sprayed on plants as well. It says it is harmless (it's like baking soda) Another product on Amazon has the potassium bicarbonate in a spray along with some essential oils like clove , wintergreen and rosemary. Does anyone have any suggestions (besides getting rid of the rose bush)?

don't know if this is natural enough for you, but ive used it many times in the past. works like a charm...

two teaspoons of baking soda, mix in a quart of water, and add about four drops of dish detergent. Spray it on the new leaves on both the tops and bottoms when they're halfway out. Spray one more time when they're all the way out. spray as soon as you see mildew developing.
