Not much older stock (pre 2012 lol), Blyth being the exception with the difference in growing seasons.
A memorable event at the convention was having Keppel, Blyth and Ghio give a panel discussion on hybridizing.
They have close to 200 Years of hybridizing experience between them. Astounding.

I think I'd pass out from overload at a place like that! OMG what a nice bunch of photos. I better sell lots of horses so I can buy them all when they are introduced.

Didn't attend the Iris convention but attended the Sempervivum Breeder's gathering at Kevin Vaughn's at the end of April. I didn't have my regular camera, and will have to see if I can get the photos off my mini laptop of his Louisiana hybrids that were blooming then. Absolutely amazing!

I have never seen anyone pass out, but they are seasoned irisarians.
The garden tours are only 3 days. At the end of the third day everyone is pretty much 'irised' out.
Keith Keppel's planting is small compared to some that we saw. But he grows only the newest irises that he likes.

We also saw a lot of his LA irises in Lafayette in April at the SLI convention. He'll hybridize almost anything that has pollen. If you have been to his garden you know that.

It's just too hot to go outside. We aren't ready for mid nineties. So I stayed in and worked on my convention pictures.
Some really nice rows of older Keppel iris. They must still sell.
