St John's Wort.

Welcome aboard Captain! Welcome! Are you a pirate captain or a regular captain? Thumbs up

Edit:
I identified it by typing 'shrub with poofy yellow flowers' into a Google Image search and matched the photos you yours. I am sure there will be a plant expert along soon to narrow it down and tell you exactly which variety of shrubby St John's Wort you have. It sure is a beauty.

I agree, looks like Shrubby St. John's Wort (Hypericum prolificum)

I would like to thank Captjanejasper for starting this thread. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Up until now I have only assumed (mistakenly) that St. John's Wort was probably some weedy, leggy looking herbaceous plant that had no place in my garden. Wow, I guess I was totally wrong. Confused Blinking Who, me! Whistling
I even found a link to show which are native to my state of Georgia.

Thanks, Captain!

Thank you all so much for your help with this identification. .It is most definitely the "Sunburst" as Sooby submiited! I am so excited to have it identified! For those that asked, I am a real fake land lovin pirate captain, a member of a performing group called the Sea Dog Slam. We do poetry and sea shanties and spoken word performances. I am most grateful to you all for finding this treasure for me! Fair winds and blossoms enough to fill a chest!

Late to the party here, but just wanted to add my two cents worth confirming identification. Here are pictures taken today of my St. John's Wort 'Sunburst' and your picture certainly looks like the real deal!

Love your name and avatar and welcome to ATP! Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
