Nice work! Wish I could sew like that. Not in my repertoire. Sad

Mine either though I do know how to sew. That is also her own design. She's just amazing when it comes to those kind of crafts.

Here's a video of a wild hive I took a year ago. I saw the hive the other day and it's still going strong. The video is a bit shaky since the hive is about 12 feet up.

Hurray! Finally seeing others bees.
Lovely flower and bee Christine.
Tarev that was a neat video. Sure were busy too.

I've been reading in some reports that the wild bees die out because of varroa mites eacg winter and here you show proof that's not necessarily true. I think it depends on where they are located and whether they had the mites before they went wild.

Thanks, for sharing, Tabby. Did you take that video near your home? I remember when I was about 5 years old we had hedges around the house and there was a bee hive in there, they never bothered us; once when they were swarming, I walked right into the swarm and wasn't bit... I think the neighbor girl told me to do it, I was naive and she was evil! Hilarious!

Is that a hint you are missing my bee articles and aren't happy to just get the plant ones? Whistling

Let's just say that life has been a bit rough this year but I do have some bee articles planned just need a few pictures for a couple and need to get the outline of a third one down.

Hi again,
The wild hive is two doors down from me in a large hollow cottonwood tree. It's been there for years and has survived -20 F winters so I think it's going to be there until the tree falls down.

There was another cotton wood on the same property that did fall and it had bees in it. Somebody came and took the bees. There are a lot of folks around here that will take wild bees and put them in hives.

I was trying to take pictures of native bees when these honey bees came into the picture. This might be the most "in focus" picture of honey bees I've ever taken.

Wouldn't close ups of bees on a banner freak out some people? I posted a close up of paper wasps once and people got upset.

I think only admins get to post banners.

Tabby anyone can submit a picture for a banner. If Dave likes the picture he will post it as a banner.

They might not get as upset over honey bees.
