My purple jew thrives in shade. Only it's not purple any more but green. It doesn't grow as fast either, which is fine by me. It 's still pretty being green.

For probably 9 months now I was just one (the size of the one on the right) then I split it up in to two and the one on the left took off on its counterpart that's why I call the bigger one the mother plant because it must've gotten the better half of the root system. And it is much more purple then the other and I treat them exactly the same?? Why is that??

The smaller one might "purple up" after a while, Dylan. Sometimes newer growth comes out greener, and the purple color comes in later. Or if it does have less of a root system it's maybe not getting as much nutrient uptake as the big one. It looks healthy, and they really are tough plants so I wouldn't worry.

Could there be a difference in the soil you planted them in? Or somebody emptied that wine bottle over the purple one ?? (just kidding) Hilarious!

I can't, but hoping someone else does. I'd like to know. Looks like it might be a flat crawler making a mat type form when it's growing well. But just guessing.

P. rotundifolia looks like it grows naturally as a vine in the Brazilian forests according to the database photos. May be a xeriscapic plant that likes humidity rather than sitting in water. Forest floors tend to be spongy with good drainage. Succulents that tolerate humidity are easier to grow in hot, hotter and steamy and steamier conditions like I've had this summer. Those with an Alpine background have not liked it here this summer. I'll have to be on the lookout to acquire this one, I think.
