I got a division from a neighbor, who did not know what the iris is. It must be a mid season as it is blooming right now. The flowers are fairly large. That's Rosalie Figge behind it.

Could it be 'Diversion'? If not, what do you think it is? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Is the color accurate? The brown shoulders puts me in mind of Persian Berry -- but it's more rose colored and not orchid...............

Yes, I think the photo is pretty close to the actual color, but it might be a little softer in person. I will look at Persian Berry though.

I don't think it is Persian Berry - here is another photo in slightly different light. Definitely not rose, not totally lavender or violet either. In between.

At first I thought of Designing woman, but the beards are pink on this one, and the white zone is missing near the beard.

Close, but I don't see any lines near the top of the falls...I forget what you call those. Pretty though!

How about Imperial Reign? There is a photo in that entry on ATP that looks just right.

Doubtful. Better yet, no.

Imperial Reign is a 2011 introduction which makes it unlikely (though you never said how long the neighbor had it). Yours has an older form, more lacing on the standards, lighter beard, and much more veining and white areas around the haft area.

Here's a picture of Persian Berry -- just in case we have different definitions of rose/lavender/etc.

Looks very close in every respect except mine does not have a white tip on the beard. It is totally orange.
So close though...making progress. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I know how you feel. I really like this iris, and I would dearly love to know what it is. The neighbor who gave it to me moved this spring and the new homeowners dug up and sodded the small garden area she had...
