Go to the plant database (Under the search window) and either type in Iris Vanity (for example) or go to the custom database and click on iris, then add Vanity to the search window. some of the more popular varieties have what seems like dozens of pictures. It's good to look at a number of pictures to get an idea of what each iris might actually look like. And yes, some of us just know through experience that Vanity is a pink self, or Dodger Blue is, well, blue...

Cleta -- it's an indication of total addiction -- ummmm, I mean *dedication* -- to know the names of our Irises!!!

We all know what some Irises look like -- probably because we have or have had them in our gardens. For the rest -- there's the Database here on ATP, like Sherry said. It's awesome!!

I will put a list of my iris in tomorrow, We went 4-wheeling today and I'm worn out. Ashton, I would spare a rhizome or two of Dodger for a couple of your beauties, but I will have to decide which.

Let me know how to finalize these negotiations. I am having a hard time just navigating the threads and finding who I have responded to and who has responded to me.

I keep my trade lists in my plant lists. When I'm ready to dig and send, I go through them all and write them down on paper. As I fill a box, they get x-ed out. Before sending, I put a post-it on each box with who they're going to and the address. At the PO, I use the do-it-yourself station because I never have more 4 at a time ready.

Others, have different methods but this works for me so I don't confuse myself. It's so easy to do these days.

Cory. Good morning. I was just going thru some of the older threads and spotted this one you started about trading. If you still want to trade come Sept 2016 let me know. I'll mark the thread to remind me. By then my last years plantings should be big enough to trade.

OK, so I'm bored. Nothing to do except leaf removal and I'm waiting for the very last ones to fall. In the meantime, I came across this thread about trading. Man, you guys are the best. I told Cory I would mark this thread to crank it up again next summer.

I'm such a rookie I need to get my named inventory up. I have a few rebloomers for trade...in the spring or when next "trade season comes up" and hopefully some named historic as well. Every iris in my profile I have more than enough multiples, which most you vets already have...welp.

After bloom time we all take stock of what is ready to be divided. You never know what winter will do, and some may not grow as much as expected, so the waiting for trades is going to be a bit of a long wait. At least we have vendors that open early to ease our urge to get irises. I was so ready when Stout's, Blue J, Wild Iris Rows opened in January. This year I am going to hold back though, because there are some I really want from the vendors that open later, and don't want to blow the budget too early.

(okay, need to build a bed too.....)

Oh that budget part... I'm sure I'm not gonna pace myself. I see a Noid sell this early spring in my front yard to compensate a little.

Take it from me - rapid garden expansion is in your future. The lovely peeps here have enabled me extremely well with surprise boxes. And I did a fine job of buying this year too. And the vendors were very generous with bonuses which added easily 50 more iris. Thus my first winter with lots of iris in pots.

John and Gabriel, check my Have list next Spring. If you see something you want, and I don't see a trade I want, I'll be happy to take postage.

Cuzz4short, I might have enough of dangerous mood and draculas kiss to trade. I have a few increases on mine but need to wait till spring to make sure. I know I have enough of Acoma and Quaker Lady.

On the bicolor, I would have to check in the spring as I may have enough to do afternoon delight beach girl, Brazilian art, planned treasure. For 2017 for sure, but I don't for 2016 (slow grower for me), I could do cats eye, clown around, Edith Woldford and splachcata.
