This shrub, potted up from the nursery area, finally started blooming - it was too non-descript to ask for an ID earlier, but by now it should be doable for some of you plant sleuths

I need to add something and it is bizarre. I could swear that late yesterday or earlier today someone had asked for an ID of a tree, someone suggested Virburnum and someone else (not me) came along and suggested Dogwood. My brain thought, what kind of Dogwood looks like that with teeny tiny flowers? So I looked it up.

Except, now that I am looking for the thread, it apparently never happened. Perhaps I am losing what little is left of my mind.
I will now begin humming the music from the Twilight Zone.......

Thanks! That looks like a decent fit, except my plant has distinctly green bark, not red. There are several similar shrubby dogwoods, I'll take a look around and see if any one is a more exact fit. Or maybe it's a variation of C. sericea. I grow Cornus amomum elsewhere in the garden, but it does have burgundy bark.
