Hi, first of all, sorry for the pic quality. I was going to take better but the snails got the blooms before I could get back out after the rain
The first pic is from a trade and it is 'Cascadian Rhythm' ?

The second pic if from the cemetery where my gf is. A coulsin planted it years ago but no record of name
Thanks for any help Smiling

Should I have posted this in Plant ID? If so, I apologize and will in the future

Welcome to the iris group, Jolana. This is a great place to post iris 'stuff' as it will be sure to be seen by iris growers and lovers. If you have any information about the iris like its height, beard color, bloom time - early, middle, late, etc., it would help to narrow your search down a bit. Do you have any idea how old the iris is?

Thank you so much.
The one from trade has been in a pot for a bit, I saw it in a pot last year, lol, I don't know how tall it would be in ground. It was blooming in May when I got it. I might have to wait till next year for that. I was told it was 'Carafe Chablis' but it doesn't quite look like the pix but I am not an expert, lol

The one from GF's cemetery was 3.5 ft tall and very, very crowded from when I saw it last year and that is in West Texas and that bloom was in May also

I only have ten irises but I dearly love them. I had to quit buying them because at our previous place, it was rural and there were 400 times more gophers than cows and horses, lol and they loved iris rhizomes very much, although I was told they didn't wat them, lol

It's hardtop really see it very well in your picture, but check out some pics of "Amas" for the cemetery iris. It also seems to look a little like some of the I. germanica clones. Another year, and the chance for some more pictures will help with a possible I.D.

I agree with Arlyn. It would require a better photo of several angles including the beard. Arlyn is our expert. smiles

Well, Arlyn's a LONG way from being an expert at ANYTHING, let alone iris ID.....but I do "try" a lot ! Keep in mind, that for ID photos, you want to see the 'whole" flower", and all it's "parts". So, one showing the whole stalk, with the "branches", and buds. One of the bloom "from the side "( much as the one of your "cemetery" iris") , will show how much "flare" the falls have. One "face on" to the falls.like this:
Thumb of 2015-06-14/crowrita1/e93b88
gives a good idea of the shape of the falls....long and skinny, rounded, oval shaped, fiddle shaped...whatever.
One of the beard, and haft area will make the reticulatins (those "squiggly lines") easy to see, exactly how the beard is shaped, and colored.

One "straight down", like this:
Thumb of 2015-06-14/crowrita1/ce0d4e
shows the color and shape of the "style arm area.
and it all helps ! Then, when you THINK you have nailed down a 'possible".....we can move on to the next steps in the process.

Welcome Jolana. Enjoy the iris forum. Maybe some have ideas for ridding your area of gophers-gopher pie, stew, fox food?
