A couple NOIDs are flowering!
I will practice collecting and starting seeds from these.

This plant had a marker last fall. No idea what happened to it.
Now it's a NOID.

Terri I am very excited about you getting into seed starting with sempervivum. Maybe you could come to the Hybridizing Clinic next spring. It is free, and we would love to have you come.

It's amazing how quickly the flowers open . Turn your back for a day and the bees will have got there first . Pop a paper bag over the flower head on the semps you have selected as mummy and daddy . Or if it's in a pot bring indoors to a window .

On the subject of noids , I learned the hard way and spent many months trying to re identity what's what , they look different week to week . Nowadays I draw a plan of the bed naming each cultivar and it's position in addition to a physical label .
