I'm older and found this a bit confusing. I downloaded the Gardening Guide for Pruning but couldn't find a website with any information about PlantedPerfect or Garden Gear Club. The only thing on the page was the link for downloading the guide. I gave my e-mail address so I'm assuming I joined the Garden Gear Club and that I'll receive a coupon code via e-mail for 50% off the pruners at amazon.com?

Usually your email address will automatically get you coupons or other promotions. I have never heard of this place either. Maybe others will know more about it.


Just as a reminder to everyone, especially older folks that may be more trusting... If you buy anything from an individual or a business you are not familiar with, be certain to use Paypal, or mail a money order. That way the seller does not obtain any of your private financial information.

Providing your email address can also get you super-spammed forever. If you choose to offer an email address to a stranger, please be safe and use a 'disposable' address, okay?

To my eyes this is spam and an attempt to get free advertising by aiming their ad at gardeners.

Whoever it is is on Facebook (I Love Gardening) aimed at gardeners and other 'outdoorists' ( I tend to think of 'outdoorists' as hikers/campers/skiers/kayakers, etc. )

well out of all my searching, this link to an amazon product is all I found relating to this thread.

greene: I did supply an e-mail address but have not received anything from them as yet. I'm on Facebook and just went to their page and clicked on "About". It seems their FB page is called I Love Gardening and this is the information they provide:

Yeah, very since Matt isn't selling anything here. He just joined/signed up to ATP early this morning and has not posted anywhere else on site.

@dave will have to determine whether this is spam and should be removed from the Classified Forum, placed in the Sandbox Forum ... or perhaps just be allowed to quietly fade away.

I bought essentially the same item (made in China) at my local Walmart for less than $10 US, and Walmart did not request my email address.

Yeah a site asking for your email address before they even give you the content is very spammy to me. I suspect this was posted here to get free advertising. I should probably remove the thread.
