With all this heat wave, I thought my caladiums will continue unfurling..I guess it is waiting for a brief cool down. Saw another growth very close to the big leaf yet to unfurl, looking at it now, it maybe a bud ..so the wait continues:

Container update, still this same container showing some leaves, and quite slow growth too! But I guess just have to be thankful it is still trying to show some more leaves. The bloomstalk still present, not yet open.

Just a Fall update on my caladiums. Though not as vigorous growing the first time around, it still managed some this year. I was expecting it to be slowing down now with the cooler temps at hand, but there are still new leaves popping up. So just enjoying all in stride I was hoping for some rain yesterday, but all we got were sprinkles as usual.
This container is areal suprise, I was resigned that nothing will show up this year on this one..and today one little leaf trying to unfurl. One better than none!

Just a November 2016 update. No rains so far this November, and it has been cooler, daytime high of 70F and overnight varies 47F to 55F. I guess it is also enjoying the cooler air overnight and the added humidity with it.
Caladiums still doing okay, some new leaves still peeking. Seems like a delayed wake up but extended growing season this time around.

My caladiums are still up and about, though temps are cooler, it is still doing okay.
I may have kept the media in the container too wet, or the temps are just cool enough that mushrooms are sprouting as well in their containers:
