Thank you, yes I have a fairly large collection of daylilies but I love all types of plants.

Yes I have clay soil as well and throw in the rocks just for fun. I ordered several mini hostas last week and they came in yesterday. I got them all potted up not sure what I will do with them all, I ordered 6 of each thinking some of my friends might be interested and if not I can always use a few extra minis for pots.

Holly, where did you order from? Were they a good size or just a single eye?

I am new here, but was reading that most modern hosts are ok in the sun. Do you know?

My Hostas are pretty much in half day sun and do well. My old Francee gets all day sun, and does beautifully. I think the people on here who are really in the know can share varieties that will do well.

I ordered from Hostas Direct
Baby Booties, Hope, Little Jay and Pandora's Box, all minis. They were on sale and I ordered the 6 ea to get another price break as well. Two of them were $4.95 two were $5.45 each. Not sure if I got a really good deal or not but I did stop by my local nursery and theirs were much more expensive and they were pretty small plants, not much bigger than the plugs I purchased. I was expecting them to be small and they were. I should have had 24 plants but some of them had more than one eye and I ended up with 39 individual plants, most of the extras were Hope and a few Little Jay they were the smallest. One of them is just a root ball with no leaves but I potted it up, you never know it might just grow. Plants were delivered quickly and in very good shape. I am pleased with my order.
Here they all are potted up where they will spend most of the summer growing. I tucked two of the Baby Booties in a pot with a begonia not sure what else I might put in that pot and included one of my containers that I potted up last week, sorry noid on the mini hosta in that pot.

This is my second attempt at 'Confused Angel's and I think it's still a little confused about its size! It's supposed to get big! At least it's still alive, so I think I'll just leave it where it's at and how it decides to grow up. Fourth growing season for me...

I had several Hostas doing that same thing, so I took some advice from here and added 10-10-10 around them this spring. They have really improved, so I will continue to do that. I also think that for some reason, a plant is just not up to snuff, and will never improve!! It sure is a neat pattern.

I do both. I sprinkle the 10-10-10 in the spring, and then when I'm planting I add some to the hole. I also add pellets to them during the season if I think they need a boost.

Took a walk with my camera this afternoon...

Raining cats and dogs this morning and it makes everything so pretty. I thought I would try a picture through the window, but it still doesn't capture the pretty colors. The Hostas follow the woods all around the house. You need to enlarge the picture to see it clearly.
