The days are getting longer and spring is just around the corner. March is a good time to bring those Pelargoniums you tucked away for winter back out into the world.

On October 29, 2014 I read with interest Jennifer's article, 'Don't Throw Out Those Pelargoniums at the End of the Season!' I had remembered this from years ago by someone else, but never got around to trying it. So I followed Jennifer's instructions because I hate to throw out good plants if they can be saved. http://garden.org/ideas/view/j...
I hung them up like the pictures in her idea in our cold cellar with stored apples, potatoes & onions. I noticed in early May little 'green bits' of new growth beginning to form. There were four plants in this experiment: All were brought up, re-potted and watered lightly. They have all grown and bloomed beautifully. Below are a couple of pictures from yesterday, June 20, 2015. Thanks Jennifer for this idea!
