yucca or agave i have no idea

It is a Yucca. Now for the sad part. The main stock of the plant will die. It stays green for about a year but will die and from the base will produce new plants for the following year's blooms. I have several around my yard. The tap root goes down to hell.

yha the guy at my plant club said yucca, leaves are edible and its a terminal inflorescence or something. also that there is one moth per yucca species and only that moth can pollinate it. he said he could not figure out how to do it himself. there are no yucca moths in the northwest. ! also thanks for the ids!

As far as I know, there are no moths of that species here in Pennsylvania and I do get seed from mine. About 50% of them anyway. Some thing else is doing the job. Check yours to see.
