Purchased as a Weeping Larch, the tree is 30+ years old, 54" high and growing in mostly bright shade with minimal late day sun. It's deciduous and doesn't seem to want to make a root ball even after root pruning on all sides. Could it be a Larix decidua cultivar?

@frankrichards16, could it be a Larix decidua or some other Larix?

I looked at Stefan's suggestion and it looks very close except mine is very slow growing. ACS says 6-12"/year. Perhaps because it's not in full sun?

I was also hoping for suggestions on how to transplant it. Smiling

Larix kaempferi 'Pendula' is a dwarf.

No suggestions on how to move it.

Yes, there is a cultivar Pendula but the name of the Pendula is bad.
not to be used for cultivar, because there was a Larix pendula synonym for Larix americana syn. for Larix laricina
cultivar Pendula It has an upright terminals therefore, no grafts just remove the terminal, ascending branches initially later fall down and hanging
other overhanging larix are not overhanging, they are grovelling grafts on the stem. I tip my hat to you.
Pendula is hanging

Thanks Stefan and Frank. I've added a genus entry for Larch (Larix) and placed an image there.
