These palms are growing in a garden in Paraty town, Brazil.
maybe Phoenix dactylifera is the most likely as it is the true date palm?

I think your right Dave, I did some search about Phoenix dactylifera being for sale in Brazil, didn't find anything, Phoenix canariensis on the other hand is being grown there for sale!

I was wrong, came to hastily to conclusion, Phoenix dactylifera is often used in Rio de Janeiro, so the plant must be available in Brazil..
