Fall of 2014, I rescued some plants from a house that was to be torn down.
There were a lot of these, which I first thought were Summer Drummer.
But the color is off (also off in my photo).
Their color is like a periwinkle purple, if there Is such a thing.
Lovely strong seed heads too.

Thank you for rescuing the plants. You will be rewarded for your efforts and the plants will multiply.

Did I mention I don't like pastels?????

I will pass them along to someone who does though.

Can anyone tell me their name?
I could put them on my ATP "have" list if I knew their name.

And I ALWAYS rescue plants when I can get permission to!
(And sometimes I just sneak in there - but leave some behind just in case.)

I even brought home a wilted daffodil, still attached to its bulb, on the sidewalk in a busy neighborhood one spring and nursed it back to health.

I hate to see good plants die!

could be a possible match. Ours are not thriving. They often get weeded out.

Mine seem beefier.
I'll have to get a better, closer photo next season.

4-5 inches across and about30" tall.

Could this be elephant garlic?

No.
The bulb looked more like a tiny potato than a garlic.
I wasn't even sure it was an allium until it came up.
Not a lot of "cloves".

These photos look similar but not quite:

Tomorrow morning when I go out to the garden, I'll get a pic of the seed heads, most of which are still standing.

The color is being tricky.
Don't know what's the color of the flower and what's the camera's reading of the color.....
