Thank you for yor comments on Windsong Nursery...I had been looking for reviews before ordering. I would like to know about the quality and vigor of the daylily fans that you purchased. Were the fans large and healthy?

My plants grew very well and where big fans. This year I got a bunch more of the new ones they made the year before and they are doing awesome. Most of the fans have tripled in quantity so should have really good clumps by next year. They all have bloomed several times already this year and many are sending up more scapes now. The registered ones are also gorgeous and really not very expensive as compared to other places I have found and doing very well too. I highly recommend them and they will answer any of your questions. I went ahead and bought one of their hybridizing kits for like 5 bucks with instructions and made some seeds this year. We will see if i have any kind of eye for breeding daylilies Ha. They have to be pretty as the parents are all gorgeous. How can i go wrong. Ha. BTW: They gave me some more of their fertilizer to use and I am telling you that is the best fertilizer I have ever used. I used the bloom fertilizer on my other flowers and man they bloomed like crazy and the neighbors have been commenting on it all summer. Can not wait until next year when i can get more stuff. Planning more gardens for next year. Ha.

Wow....thank you again. I was a bit apprehensive since they normally ship single fans. This is great news. I will be bidding on some of their plants in the Lily Auction. The sell under the name Royalcrownjewels. I can't wait to get my hands on their fertilizer for the spring.

Just curious as to which cultivars did you get from them?

I'm glad others had a good experience with Windsong Nursery. I did not. I ordered 3 daylilies, which totaled about $50. I didn't receive a confirmation, and I didn't receive any delivery information. After 4 days, I sent an email explaining I was leaving town in 2 weeks, and I needed delivery dates. I either had to get them before I left or after I returned. I received no reply. I waited another week before I called the grower. Once again I explained my situation and asked for a call back or email. I received neither. A few days later, I received a robo call (there must have been several customers waiting for information/confirmation/delivery information) saying that all daylilies that had been ordered but not received would be delivered no later than the following Saturday. Saturday came and went--no plants. I left on vacation the next day. When the plants didn't arrive, I stopped payment on my credit card.

Four days later, I received an email (not from the grower) from PayPal that my plants were being delivered. So, my plants were being delivered the week I requested that they NOT be sent because I was out of town during one of the hottest weeks of the year. When we got home, we found 3 TINY dried up fans. My experience has always been that growers are very careful about their shipments and ensure the shortest time in-transit as possible. I have always received healthy plants in the past. Windsong doesn't seem to follow that philosophy. I eventually nursed the plants back to life and requested that my credit card company drop the dispute and make the payment to Windsong, but I will never consider ordering from them again. And I can never recommend them to anyone else. They don't even follow the most-basic procedures for Internet orders.

Thanks for that information....I did order a clump of Yazoo Elsie Hintson from them last fall. The fans were small and have not bloomed this year. I will not order from them again either. There are too many other options out there.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Cowboydadx5 is one of the owners of windsong nursery. Found this out when they came to our club to talk about their hybridizing program. Warren and Kimber Wolfe were very nice at the meeting, but the review given here is under false pretenses and I think it should be taken with a grain of salt.

I also checked out their Facebook page. Here is a post saying they are going out of business. https://www.facebook.com/winds...

Yes. I was very disappointed when I made the connection between the two.

Before I knew this, I had tried to contact Windsong through their website in January 2015 to see about visiting since they are only a few hours away. Never heard from them.

They also sell the Gromaxx line of fertilizers.

Thank You! Vickie, I can't stand when companies do things like this. If they are dishonest about something like posting reviews about themselves then I'd hate to see what flowers you may end up with after they bloom. It's so sad you can't trust people anymore. That's why I only have a small amount of nurseries I buy from and most of my daylilies have came from Garden.org members that post on the classifieds but even then I only buy from members that are active on the forums. I hate when new members come on here and the only thing they do is head to the classifieds to sale things. Often times you'll never see another post by them.

In 2016 I ordered from Windsong and spent $161. I ordered more than one type of plant. For the most expensive one that I was really looking forward to, I was supposed to receive 2 single fan plants and they sent a single plant that supposedly had 2 fans. That plant wasn't even close to what I ordered. When I contacted them, the person didn't seem surprised that I received the wrong plant and also wanted me to send a photo of that plant so she could identify what is was. I told her I didn't care what it was because it was ugly. She sent me another plant and it took a while for it to grow enough for me to tell that, again, it wasn't even close to what I ordered. These plants were so pale and ugly. They never sent me the correct plants nor did they credit my credit card. They just didn't care because they already had my money. They SHOULD go out of business for selling plants at a premium price that they don't even have. On their website even now, they state that they have good customer reviews. I wonder who those people are. I will never order from these people again.

Sorry you had such a bad experience, houstonbuyer. It is disgusting what some people will do to make a buck and it makes me so mad that they have no scruples!

Amber, I never ordered the fertilizer. After making the connection to the owner and the review, I'm glad that I didn't.
