Definitely not a Panicum. Stefan is correct, it's a nutsedge (Cyperus) of some sort. It's not going to be easy to figure out which one, there are hundreds of species, unless it's something jimard8 bought. Relatively few species are sold in commerce.

I think bamira gave me the the link , From out in the southwest it was sent to me .
Umbrella plant(Cyperus alternifolius) only small still , seems to be the match .
