Arborsculpture is fascinating! A braid might be a more reasonable first project? Any trees that inosculate (fuse together) are candidates for this.

In this area rustic furniture is often made from "river willow" which often grows in creeks. It would be an interesting experiment to use this method on river willow. For one thing it is a fast grower.
