Fireworks! The form of UFs and spiders remind me of fireworks. I thought of that while taking some photos of the blooms this morning. None remind me more of a dazzling explosion in the sky than Serge Rigaud. It has been outstanding this year. It's winding down now, but it's been blooming since May 27. It had the tallest, strongest scapes of any daylily this year and these huge pinwheel blooms managed the windy days really well. I've posted it before, but here it is today. Gonna miss it when it stops blooming.



3 photos of a new one using the camera differently, natural light, bright sun camera setting and the bright sun setting using the flash. This is Santa's Pants and it has a bit of green fire in the throat.



Another new one is Heavenly Pink Twister. One bloom got tangled up with Galaxy Explosion.

The flower is huge, yes the frog is very small.

I think the frog has found a Mansion!

'Handwriting On The Wall' that is 'Seldom Seen' is a 'Midnight Mystery' involving 'Buddy's Khloe' and 'Barbara Mandrell' it almost read like a murder mystery reading those names...beautiful plants.

Claudia, I think my little red spider probably is Crimson Pirate. It's a cute little thing, but one that I think is going to need to find a new home this fall to make room for more of the tiny series of lilies. If any wants a big clump of it, I'll sent it for the cost of a medium flat rate box postage.

I like your Blizzard Blast. It's one of those funny ones that can grow on you.

I have a few of my "main" daylilies in flower today, although there have been species-types in flower since late May.

'Pawprints On My Heart'


'Two Part Harmony', new this year and obviously a CMO as it was 47F (8.5C) last night and it was already open like this when I went out at 7 a.m. This is a single flower but it is supposed to switch between single and double.


'Kindly Light', an oldie complete with ants! I shooed the ants off and tried to take another one but my iPod Touch battery gave out at that point so had to forget it.

The originals of these (all taken with iPod Touch) are reasonably sharp but the thumbnails are fuzzy - am I sizing the uploads incorrectly?

Blizzard Blast was a bonus from Jamie Gossard. I really was not happy when I looked it up but it turned into a pleasant surprise. I am going to get rid of my Crimson Pirate too this fall!

@kylaluaz, Moses' Fire sometimes singles for me. Only the second year in my garden. This picture was taken last year and has a single with a couple of blooms trying to double.
