Debra,

I am going to move both seedlings out of the seedling area, because it is not the greatest area. I will move them to a better spot and see what happens. I agree, Great White is a great plant with great foliage and at least 3 way branching, but it is slow to increase. I will be curious to see how this seedling increases.

Gale, I like your red. It's color is clear.

Fred, that poly is gorgeous. Does it have a high %?

David - Some nice seedling blooms! I have been doing a lot of searching lately on the ATP Daylily Database for rust resistant cultivars. YOUR seedling has one good parent for rust resistance! J.T. Davis exhibits rust resistance. On the other hand, Great White shows a 3.8 susceptibility to rust. That good foliage might be coming from JT.

Cindy and Debra - I like every one of each of yours above! Wow! Quite the show! Lovey dubby Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Fred - Another registration worthy seedling. I love the color contrasts in that bloom!!! Lovey dubby Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Thanks Becky Smiling

A few seedlings today. This first one I have lost the tag on and I have misplaced my garden maps so not sure of the cross.

This one was marked ED BROWN X FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN but the color of the flower surprises me. I would not have expected this color so I am wondering if I marked it wrong.

Very nice, Ashton!!! Thumbs up

Cindy - I couldn't resist, I just had to do a pedigree chart on your "ED BROWN X FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN" seedling. Since there are some unknown genes further back, it's hard to say positively whether or not your seedling is marked correctly, but ...
looking at the known genetics .... I'd have to say that you may have mislabeled that beauty! Blinking Confused Whistling

Thanks Becky. I figured it must not be marked right. Going to see if I can find out what exactly the cross is if I only can find my maps on my cluttered desk.

I agree with you Leslie! It's beautiful!

You know, I have gotten some really unexpected blooms from crosses. My seedling crosses of Dragonfly Dawn x Dragonfly Dawn (seeds from Rich on the LA) produced 4 interesting blooming seedlings. My favorite one is the "pink" one, which was NOT a color I was expecting at all. So you just never know what genetics will show up in a seedling. I wished I knew what some of the other seedlings looked like in the genetic line of Cindy's "ED BROWN X FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN" seedling. One of those unknown or no photo genes could be what helped create Cindy's beauty.

Here is a pedigree chart of my 4 DD x DD seedling blooms (I've posted this particular chart before):

Thumb of 2015-07-06/beckygardener/6e81fd

Look how different, yet similar they all are!! So interesting to see what some crosses can produce in the flowers.

Leslie - Thanks! I used a scrapbook program to create the template and then I manually add the bloom photos and names. Seeing the genetic tree gives you more vision than just the immediate parents. And there is always surprises in there, too! To me to look at a daylily pedigree chart is fascinating. If you look really closely, you can see resemblances to previous generations in some crosses. Very, very cool!
