Thank you for showing us your beautiful Liliums, Connie. I really enjoyed them, each and everyone.
We had two days of rain this week - if we add the one time it rained as consequence of the stormy rain in northern Chile, plus one more event, the balance is .... only 4 days with rain. The rodents from the surrounding woods are desperate and they are digging up my Lilium and Hipperastrum bulbs. The garden looks so desolated ... it's really sad. That's why I value even more the time I spend at the computer, enjoying your pictures.
Pure white lilies or white lilies with a coloured centre is another weak spot of mine, so I really like this one. Even though the flower looks huge it still possesses something very graceful and this adds immensely to the appeal.
Thanks you guys for sharing in my lily journey. It's not always pretty, but I enjoy the wonder and suspense of it all. And I do not consider myself patient, but I have gained a little patience along the way.
I doubt lilies are nowhere near as many as daylilies. They are trickier to get significant differences one from another. Some strong genetic traits persist, such as yellow throats in white trumpet lilies. The greatest opportunity for variation probably exists with the Asiatic division of lilies. Of course, no blue in true liliums either.
