Wow ---what a list!
They do sell Japanese Itohs here, but usually at high prices unless I catch them selling them off.

Thanks @CarolineScott! I don't know the hardiness zones. All of the plants coming in the fall are from Swenson's Garden, and except for Etched Salmon, I had not heard of the others either.

One of my potted peonies is General MacMahon, that I had never heard of until I saw it at the nursery. I'm really interested to see how this one is going to bloom.

Liz, that's quite the list. You're going to have some amazing blooms when your plants mature. That's an astounding number of plants that's going to be added to your garden.

Liz, you have given me a good list to research, but I think that I will research it next winter when the weather is minus 30 here!

OMG Liz! That is an incredible number of peonies that you are adding this year, many of which I have not even heard of! I hope you get blooms next year. Please share their pics. I don't have the energy or room to add much to my garden so I will have to experience these unique varieties vicariously through you. I have a credit voucher from Gilbert Wild for a mislabel so I will use it to order some peonies this fall too. I think I am going to get some on your list: Negricans, Astarte, and Winged Victory. They sound so lovely!

I hope I get blooms next year, too, Karen, but I haven't been incredibly lucky with 1st year flowers. We'll see! And I KNEW you'd get Astarte! That was probably my favorite pic from the ones GW offered this year. You're getting quite the collection of Saunder's peonies by now, aren't you?

We have at least 5 acres that is open--full sun, very few trees, so I have tons of room. I'll probably start another pile this summer that will eventually be another big garden area in a couple of years but I have room for all of the ones I ordered in existing beds right now. I'll want to divide and/or move things eventually, though. I think I'm making my husband nervous--I've told him all of these are going with us when we eventually retire!

Liz, I am jealous of the space you have! Drooling I will be looking forward for your posts next year and the following years!

I added a few more from Bannister Garden. All of their peonies are half off. Neva is retiring.

Lily, Thank You! for the tip! Can't help myself but have to place an order to Bannister Gardens and add 11 more peonies to my garden. Their prices are too good to pass up! Guess I have to convert more lawn to peony beds. Big Grin

Lily, those are interesting plants that I had not heard of (Angelo Freeborn, Spiffy, or John Harvard) until you posted about them.

Karen, I'm right there with you, more grass has to go😁

I've been checking on line for Kopper Kettle for several years, but it's been so expensive. I just checked again, and found it at Springhill, for 49.99, but with their sale I ordered 2, and got 1 Kirinmaru, and with the discount, got them for under $40 Hurray!

Now with you all posting about Bannister's, I'm going to have to check out their site.

Karen, you are welcome. We are all enablers here. nodding I added some more to my order. 6 became 15. I am pretty sure most of my common hostas will have to go. Green Grin! I only have a little lawn left in my tiny suburban lot.

Annette, this is where I see some of the peonies that I've ordered.http://www.petaltalk-jean.com/2014/06/plethora-of-peonies-part-one.html
If you browse her blog, you'll see some more interesting cultivars.

I have Kopper Kettle bought a few years ago as potted plant from Monrovia. Let me know what you think of KK when it will bloom for you. Smiling

That is amazing, just looked at their selections and am placing an order. And I've added the blog you posted about to my favorites. I just had time to take a quick look but am looking forward to reading it all and looking at the beautiful pictures!!

If anyone likes the cactus dahlia style peonies, she has Circus Circus for what ends up being $10.50. In my opinion it's one of the prettiest of that style. And I looked for Mammoth Rose for years--think she has it on there as just Mammoth, ends up being $10. It's supposed to be the biggest rose style peony bloom.

Thanks for letting us know about them, so sorry they're going out of business because the selection is absolutely amazing. Glad they're doing it for retirement and no negative reason.

Liz, when I saw your list, I felt like a poor cousin. Sighing! My garden is so small, all my grass gone many years ago, I don't have any space left, not even for a single peony. Best of luck with your new peonies. Smiling

Liz, I might order Mammoth Rose. I need to email Neva first. I still would like to add a few in my order. Batzella being one of them. I have Yumi and Garden Treasure and they are both very nice. Loving these yellow Itohs. Please let us know which ones you ordered from Bannister. Smiling

Hey Lily, I am planning to move my Bartzella this fall. I can certainly send you a division of it for postage if you like. Save the money on Bartzella and get something else. I bought my Bartzella 3 years ago from Solaris Farm.

Hi Caroline, the Japanese Itoh we were referring to was one Swenson's got that was unnamed, they just referred to it as Japanese Itoh. Basically it's a NOID but the color combination with the supposedly dark blue-green foliage and the yellow blooms sounded pretty and it was a very reasonable price.

Lily, they have that one called Mammouth but if you look at the description and the picture and compare it to the APS database for Mammoth Rose it looks identical, at least to me. Even if it isn't, how the heck can you go wrong with a huge, pink double peony for $10???

Jasmin, I probably wouldn't go so crazy acquiring peonies if we had a place in CO that I could see them when blooming other than my yard. Even the Denver Botanical Garden has a very limited variety. I was so envious of your visit to the lady who didn't want to sell any of her plants but opened her garden to you....and your garden is absolutely beautiful! And I'm envious of the beautiful garden Annette has put together, and the growth Karen had on her first year plants, and the size of plants and abundance of blooms several of the members here. I see the gorgeous pictures and just want to visit each of your in your beautiful gardens and talk about the plants. I think I'm known around my neighborhood and at work as the crazy flower lady. I am so glad Karen clued me in to this forum and that I found the one on GardenWeb, sharing in everyone's excitement when a beautiful bloom opens in their garden is very near as exciting as it is to see it in mine. Sometimes it's even better because I don't see that stupid weed I missed in everyone else's pics!

So I ended up ordering Crazy Daisy--had it before from Peony Paradise but it didn't grow, NONE of the ones I ordered from them did, hint. High Fashion, Hi Mabel, Madame Calot, Mammouth, Mary Eddy Jones, R A Napier and Squirt.

Liz, thanks for your kind words! I am also envious of your 5 acres.

I placed an order with Bannister's last night, however, it doesn't appear that I got any discounts😔. The invoice sent still showed I'm being charged full price for the plants. I've emailed them this morning to see what's going on.

Bannister Peony order:

Mammouth-2
Martha Bullock-2
Pink Derby-1
Rose Heart-1 (aka Bess Bockstoce😳)
Circus Circus-1
Douglas Brand-1

Now, I need to reign myself in! I'm going to have to find the time to plant all of these.

Good morning Annette. Neva will adjust it. My invoice will be emailed to me on Sunday.

I thought Bess Bockstoce and Rose Heart are two different peonies. Swenson have them both in their catalog.
