that is so cool that you have babies Smiling I have never seen from seed cactus,
Of course if I lived in Texas this might Not be so exciting , especially if they were discovered barefooted.

Thanks for sharing the pic. Thumbs up

Thanks Cinda. I found the babies when I was planting some coneflower seeds. They've slowly taken over parts of my flowerbeds. I ate the fruit a couple of times and it tastes much better than the ones in the grocery store. It sort of reminds me of watermelon. I tried one last year but it wasn't ripe enough and it had a horrible taste. I actually regret planting them because I can't pull weeds around them and I've thrown away several pairs of gloves lol.

Good photo. I've gathered up 5 galvanized buckets of little ones so far this year. They are hard to find out in the mowed area and there will be a couple of more buckets if I get around to it. The rain has really caused the seeds to sprout and they grow fast until they finally get to big to hide. They can really take advantage of rain following drought conditions.

That's amazing you have that many seedlings Donald. I call them pest plants but they're one of the few plants that stay green during times of drought lol.
