I am far too new at owning daylilies to understand what this is, but to me it looks like a bud coming out of a bud scar. Does this happen on rebloomers? I assumed rebloomers sent up new scapes.

(I don't know much about this seedling at all, so I don't even know if it's supposed to be a rebloomer.)

Oh, LoL! I didn't even suspect that because I didn't pollinate that flower and the place I got it from wasn't using this as a hybridizing plant. Somehow that pod survived a long trek home in my trunk, being moved (and laid down repeatedly) while I was trying to figure out where to plant it, and also having its petals taken off! Hurray!

After all of that, I might as well see what cross comes out of it!

It'll be the first one I have because of a bug's hybridization efforts. And since it came from a large field of various daylilies, this could be interesting....
