Does anyone have the 2011 Rice intro Pangea? I think this NOID might be Pangea. It was supposed to be Spacecoast Night Vision, another 2011 intro. I bought one fan of it three years ago, and it just now bloomed.

The seller says he doesn't know what it is, but if it came from him as a single fan it would have to be a relatively new intro. The bloom is in the 6 inch range. Most of my scapes are running very short this year, so scape height doesn't help identify it.

Whatever it is .... it's a beauty! I am surprised that the seller is clueless (if it came from him). Surely he would recognize one of his own?

Becky - I've had the wrong plant sent to me at least a dozen times, and the only seller who could identify a mixup plant was Bob Selman of Blueridge. I don't know if the color is different in my zone, or sellers who have a thousand or more daylilies just don't pay attention to details.

So many times I've been told, "I don't have anything that looks like that. You must have gotten the tags mixed up with a daylily from someone else. And, of course, some don't even answer my emails.

Debra - Hmmmm .... I wondered. Blame someone else for a plant that THEY sent. I am sorry to hear that. I purchase mainly seeds or seedlings, so I don't bother to question the sellers, unless it's someone here on ATP. The sellers here are awesome! My questions typically will be about the parent plants.

I did have an issue with a seller on the LA who sold me seeds that did not germinate. I got my money refunded. I won't buy from him again. Thumbs down But ATP folks are great sellers in my limited experience. Smiling Thumbs up

I have purchased a small handful of named daylilies here and got exactly what I expected. So a Thumbs up and Thank You! to ATP sellers!!!! Hurray!

This is Pangea this morning which I purchased from hybridizer. The self color has never been darker here since planted early spring 2013. Same white backed anthers and thin white edge, bloom on stunted scape this year.

This is the photo from the database, if the plant changes that much I see why it was not recognized by the grower.

Larry, I have a ton of Rice intros and all look dead on. It could be that the high iron level reported on soil test result in this bed where Pangea is planted may account for faded color???

I wonder if it could be another Rice, Theodore Klein. I nonticed the seller has that one on his price list. The petal color looks right.

I just saw it on the AHS database and i agree its a pretty close match and would not be far fetched that he got the right hybridizer but the wrong cultivar.
