Hi. The white one is an Easter Lily that I planted over 2 years ago. Still produces beautiful flowers and a sweet scent.

"Jean's Joyful Noise"--chance seedling in our garden, named for my sister. Right now one of the plants is blooming five lovely blooms, and there are four proliferations that will be planted out this fall-- a wonderful DL for us



Voila Francois---only really frilly DL here--it's a love, hate relationship. It is very slow to increase so we don't get a lot of blooms each year but they are usually very beautiful, so it may stay for awhile longer.

Teresa, I try not to edit the pictures but when I do its is with the free Cannon software that came with my camera... And sometimes I take photo's with my smart phone...

My smart phone is not color accurate. It takes deep red and turns it to magenta. So i use the old Kodak 14 megapixel camera. Just as easy to upload to iPhoto on the Mac. If i have to use pic hosting site it photogallery.com for free unless you want get really fancy.

Can anyone guess my signature daylily? Clue: Its 3 words.

Here are a few....all are NOIDs.

My Free Wheelin decided, along with about 6 other daylilies, that it wasn't going to bloom this year. I think the hard winter we had is the reason.

Cindy - Perhaps it is going to bloom later. This season has been so mixed up because we had an unusually warm Winter. So nothing is blooming when it should.

My wife and I have about 400 different daylilies, and we enjoy “making our morning rounds”. As I’m sure you all know - It is different every day. Well the other day was not just different, but truly remarkable for one plant in particular – Broaden Your Horizons. This is only it’s third year for us so there are only 10 fans and the show was 9 flowers – Very nice. However, what was so special was that there were 4 variations of the flower. First – what it is supposed to be,




second – the pinky self portion was a near white,



third – a poly version,



and last but most special – an “Explosion in the Paint Factory” symptom but really cool in that the flower was precisely half pink, and half “white”.



Here's a picture of the entire "clump". It is a little hard to make out the flowers above but they are all there - from the bottom up - the first three up the middle are normal, white & poly. The split is on the left.





Ya gotta luv it!!

Just came back from the gardens (it was raining this morning) and looked at BYH again. The flowers are a mess after the rain, but there is another "split" This time it is the mirror image of the last one! I can't wait to see what happens in a couple of days to see what happens when the other buds open.

One of our brand new plants this year - Barbara Dittmer bloomed for the first time this morning - poly! Must be something about this Canadian air.
