Beautiful, drool-worthy blooms folks. A very long time ago (25-30+years) I was smitten by a nearly black daylily. The tag said Dragon Lore...but I have been told it was mislabeled, so now I just call it NBNOID.

My MIL got tired of her daylilies and had my FIL dig them up and put them in trash bags to be thrown away. My husband rescued them and I have lots of NOID pretties.

Jean that dark one is a real beauty. I have Ashwood's Dark Side and it is not that dark for me. Being that old it probably would not be hard to find its real name in fact it could be DAKAR Stamile 1988 which would put it at 27 year old hybrid. Average size 30 tall and 5.25 blooms. Hope this helps.

Thank you Kevin. I tip my hat to you. A while back I posted a picture here and looked at a lot of suggestions... I looked at DAKAR, but it lacked the midrib line that this one has. and I think the release date was 1998.

Jean,

I have Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Night Wings') and your black cv, bears a similar resemblance. Night wings age certainly fits the bill.

Beautiful blooms everyone.

Thanks Stan, I tip my hat to you.

Night Wings is such a pretty flower. but at its' fullest, this bloom is only about 4 inches. The first few blooms each year are roughly 2.5 to 3 inches and when it gets its mojo on ( Rolling my eyes. ) they top out at 4 inches.

I have 2 questions about "mechanics" of posting on this site (if no one here knows the answers, I will ask again with a new thread elsewhere on the site).
1) How do you get the caption for a photo to appear on the right side of the photo instead of on the top or bottom?
2) How can you respond to another post with your comment following that post? For example, I would like to respond to a post on page 1 of this thread and have my comment appear following that post .

For your second question, there is a button on the bottom right of each post that says "Quote", just click that.

The answer to the second part of the question is...you can't, but you can use the @ sign and their name to draw attention to your post and you can use the Quote feature to repost it.
I just had to try the 1st part, I used the "Upload and Image" button for the image, then just typed in description on the same line starting at the end of the brackets. If that is what you were asking.

Sabrina, I enlarged your photo, and while the small one is beautiful, the enlargement is just absolutely "out of this world"! Love it...

'Green Flutter' is a late daylily that I planted to extend the daylily season in my garden. I love its bright flowers and clean green foliage. It took many shots with my iPhone 4S (my only "camera") to get a shot that showed the loverly green throat, i.e., that was not overexposed in the center, but finally I got one!

Hi Alwaysbehind,

The way that I get my titles next to the pics is to just type it after the upload. I upload a photo and once it is finished, I space and type in the name of the cultivar. I do this after each upload. I like that better than having the name listed below or above the photo....that gets confusing sometimes.
