Thread OP

I found this cluster of weird little white bulbs in the ground. They range from tiny to about the size of a golf ball. They have no stems or anything growing out of them. They look like little onions. I cut one open and its just white on the inside like an onion would be. Anybody know what they could be?

It looks like some kind of spring blooming bulb. It is dormant now but you can see where the roots were. My guess.

Welcome Jackson. I'd leave them be, make a note where they are, then see what comes up next spring. Are you new to your place?

In the enlarged picture, it looks to be foliage and bulb of what's commonly called Star of Bethlehem. It pops up occasionally around here, too, usually in shady spots.

Whenever I pull up spring-blooming clover, sort of like oxalis I find they are little bulbs like that. My clover dies back in the summer. But I am sure the little bulbs thrive because they come back every winter. Grumbling I don't know the name of the plant but maybe someone knows what I am trying to talk about?

If the leaves in the first photo are the same as the bulbs, they resemble some species of Allium. Check out Allium canadense .. in the first link, scroll along the photos where you will find similar leaves with some dying foliage.
