I just checked the database here, and the name is Oklahoma Kicking Bird, and there are several pictures! It is beautiful!

Thanks for the correction, Wilma would have taken me to task for the error. I have grown it in zone 7 and zone 4/5 and for me it has more yellow making it a vermilion in my garden. Wilma hybridized that before spiders became as popular as they are now, 1987.
I’d rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.

Here are a few that we grow.

Did you know, that the names of 26 states have Native American origins?
So any dayliles with those state names could be included.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wik...
If you got all the daylilies named after these states and all the other names others find,
You will need an acre.

I'm in trouble with how big this bed will be for sure. Blinking

I knew there were many cultivars but my goodness. I will have to come up with some sort of ranking as for what's in and not. Shrug! That's going to be a problem when I love everyone I see, and all the photos dosent help other than to make the list grow! Rolling on the floor laughing

Ashton, thanks for those suggestions. I especially love Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Feather Woman').

An acre or two, try 21/2 to 3. I need room for all that compost I'll have to make and storage building for all the alfalfa pellets I'll need to feed these beauties!

I agree I have really enjoyed everyone's participation.

I will keep you all posted when next year rolls around and I get started. I may even start a blog about it when I do get it rolling. First comes the second job, next comes the new house with all that extra land, then comes the harvesting of the CV's, etc... Rolling on the floor laughing

Seriously though, Thanks!!!

that is purely gorgeous. My father said we had some Cherokee in us and my Ex said he has some Michigan tribal blood. Both wrong. I had my DNA and my son's DNA tested and there is no Native American blood showing up. But my grandson has some due to his mother having roots in Louisiana. I doubt it is Seminole but could be Cherokee as they were ousted by President Jackson and driven west to Oklahoma. Jerk.

Thanks for that link, Lisa! I've actually been to Dahlonega before, and had I known about this, I would have dropped a stone on the grave! My gr-gr grandfather was born in Blue Ridge, just north of there a bit, which is where his father met his mother, who was Cherokee, while he was a preacher to the Indians. I have a cousin who had the DNA test done, and I was very happy when it showed that we really were Cherokee. My gr-gr grandmother was also Cherokee, supposedly full blood, according to the DNA test.

Stan, I sure hope you write a blog about this! I'd love to read it! Of course, you've got that second job and a new house with property to buy first, so we'll all be patiently waiting!
