Everyone needs to check into Regional Rate Boxes on shipping plants and non heavy items to people in their "region" for less money than what they pay for Flat Rate shipping.

For example:
A medium flat rate box costs $12.65 no matter where I send it to. (under 70 lbs)
A Regional Rate Box B costs $6.16 no matter where I send to within my region* (under 20 lbs)

Size of med. flat rate: 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8"
11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
size of box B: Inside Dimensions: 12" x 10-1/4 x 5"
Outside Dimensions: 12"-1/4 x 10-1/2" x 5-1/2"

Use the Postal Zone Chart to determine what "region" the person is in you're shipping to.
Link to Zone Chart

The difference between Regional and Flat Rate is that Regional Rate will increase in price as the distance of the package being sent grows. While Flat Rate remains the same price no matter how far it goes. So for closer shipments, you'll save a lot using Regional Rate Boxes.

Here's a link to some more information: Link

You can't find these boxes at your local post office, you have to order them online (it's free).

Well that's something the Post office didn't bother telling me!

No Iris in front of Joe's when I went by yesterday... I'm guessing he'll put them out after our sales, which are Aug 1st and 8th.

I have received some boxes that were marked regional, but I don't see any of them at the PO. I'll have to ask where they are.

They drop them off all wrapped in plastic. Great for storage. Order on line and you get them pretty quickly.

If you go to the information link, you'll find links to all of the different sizes of Regional Rate Boxes. You can order them from those links. When you order them, they come in quantities of 10, or 25 boxes.

For longer distances, remember to check the charts. Regional Boxes can quickly add up to more than a Flat Rate box the further the box has to travel.

Thanks. That will help when I have to ship. If I had known that a couple of weeks ago it would have save me a few bucks when I had to ship a package.
