Becky, thanks for the "primitive faux" tip! I tip my hat to you. I'm really sorry now that I didn't do something to the two wooden birdhouses I put up on posts last year but after all these great ideas I won't make that mistake again.

I love the shape of this birdhouse. I call it my Southwestern birdhouse.
I just finished it last night, those paintings aren't paintings, they are clay glued in place.
I love it... I don't know if the birds like it but I do....

I love the roof too ... unfortunately that B'house is one that was hanging out in a tree for a few years and the round thingy on the roof that it hangs from is extremely loose and ready to fall out. The house itself is wood and has deteriorated so much that it's falling away from the roof. The roof although weathered and scratched seems sturdy so I will use it for another house once the current abode falls apart completely! Down here in the heat and humidity some things don't last very long when left outside to the elements.

Our heat in Phoenix also is a destroyer of garden art sometimes, Lin.

My son gave me this chicken....so fun! I had it for many years but the sun ruined the woven part and I had to toss it. I should have left it in the shade. Sad

No, I didn't make a clay one, not yet anyhow!! But the ornaments on the front are clay.
