Great idea in Small Garden Deer Solution

This is my solution to protect my small garden from the deer and other animals that share our neighborhood. We moved out here 8 years ago, and part of the attraction for us was the abundant wildlife.

....And with a few hoops of PVC pipe and a roll of plastic, you could have a greenhouse to start your seedlings or store your potted plants for winter!

Oh that would be a very good idea!! We can not do that here because of POA rules. But might be a great idea for someone else to use!!

Definitely an easy way to fence in a small area ! And you could grow plants vertically on it, as well -- which is a real space saver

Surprisingly GREEN Pittsburgh (Zone 6a)

I have a square of those 6' panels on my deck where I protect the veggies (in containers) that the groundhogs would devour. I chose them because I could handle them by myself and wouldn't need to pay someone to pt them up for me.

Grandchildren are my greatest joy.

I would plants some sugar snap peas on the fencing early......they can be harvested and the vines removed quite early in the growing season. Sugar Snap Peas=good grazing

Grandchildren are my greatest joy.

If one of the long sides is facing north that would be even better. I haven't grown SSP for a while but when I did they never made into the house. My Grand Children would keep the vines well picked and eat them on the spot........

Fantastic idea, Claudia!

I made a greenhouse out of my dog kennel, and it worked perfectly!

I like your idea but I didn't want to build a fence because I was planning to move in a few years. I found these Garden Commanders that work great for keeping the deer out of my garden. Also, keeps my dogs out as well as any other critter that might want to eat my veggies before they are picked. Has the added advantage of turning into a mini greenhouse in the early spring if I put plastic over them and also can put netting over them to keep birds and small insects away from my young plants.
