I needed a tall accent to finish off a mixed container, but my budget didn't stretch to yet another nursery trip. As I looked around, I found the solution.
Jill, I love this idea ... I only grow a few Daylilies and they are in containers but I didn't think about mixed container plantings. Thanks for this great tip!

I agree with Lin... never would have thought to put daylilies in a mixed container but I bet they would be beautiful!!! I love daylilies but really don't have a place for them.... now I've got tons of ideas!!!
I hate losing plants....I know they are "just plants" but when you nurse them along and baby them and get them to grow, bloom, and be pretty and they die....it's like losing a friend.....
Thanks for all the comments, thumbs, and acorn tips!
It really was a "lightbulb moment" for me. I often pot up small new plants, divisions, and seedlings (daylilies and others) so they grow to quart or gallon size before I plant them out... I'll be checking out my nursery corner now when planting decorative containers.
