Well we got this violet colored beauty about 10 years ago from a local grower-hybidizer and we could have sworn she called it Avonelle. But there is no such name in the AHS database. So i tried many times to think of words that would rhyme with Avonelle or different word plays like names that end with elle.
It has never failed to perform for us and grows 18-24 tall with 5-6 inch blooms. It always opens in mid to late June and was done blooming about i week ago because it likes to shoot its bolt with multiple blooms almost every day.

So without further ado who am i?

Looks a bit like Addie Branch Smith - but Addie's eye is sharper.

Could it be Russian Rhapsody? Does anyone here grow that one?

Kevin
I grow Russian Rhapsody, and that is not it unfortunately. It is very pretty though. I saw it earlier today in the background of another one of your photos and hoped that you would post it. Smiling

Thanks Regina. Its been a 10 year mystery for us but it is a nice plant and always one of the 1st to bloom so it kind of heralds in the season which is big happy time for me.

Hi Keith. Yes indeed daylily in my avatar is Sabine Baur (one of my all time favorites) but we were discussing the violet daylily in the photo at the top of this thread. Sorry for the confusion.
If this not a seedling than someone somewhere in the world is growing this and we just have to wait until they join ATP. Lol.
