I have a lily, i'm in the n.w.it has only one bloom, is this common? I believe it


is the iowa rose variety. and the only one plant in the pot

General rule of thumb, the answer is "No". We would have to know a whole lot more about your climate and your rose to give you further information.

Some roses will go summer dormant in high heat, but it sounds like there might be more going on here.

If you can tell us what you've been doing to grow this plant - it's situation related to sun, watering, fertilizer etc. that will also help.

Rather you have an Oriental lily of Star Gazer type. There are numerous cultivars that look quite similar, so I can't say exactly which one, this is just an example to give you an idea:



As for your question, as a general rule a small bulb will give you fewer flowers and a larger bulb more flowers. So you are correct one flower isn't unusual for a small bulb. In time and with proper care you will have many more flowers.
