Welcome! cindyzent

General rule of thumb, the answer is "No". We would have to know a whole lot more about your climate and your rose to give you further information.

Some roses will go summer dormant in high heat, but it sounds like there might be more going on here.

I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.

Pictures of the plant, close up and full view would help a lot, Cindy. Welcome to ATP, and be assured we don't usually ask more questions than we answer. Big Grin

If you can tell us what you've been doing to grow this plant - it's situation related to sun, watering, fertilizer etc. that will also help.

Welcome!

That's not the Lily 'Iowa Rose', as it looks like this:

Rather you have an Oriental lily of Star Gazer type. There are numerous cultivars that look quite similar, so I can't say exactly which one, this is just an example to give you an idea:

As for your question, as a general rule a small bulb will give you fewer flowers and a larger bulb more flowers. So you are correct one flower isn't unusual for a small bulb. In time and with proper care you will have many more flowers.
